Drug rehabilitation programs today are systematically equipped to address all of an addict's issues, covering his emotional hangovers to spiritual revival. As such, all rooms for drug abuse will eventually be taken from his familiar system. Programs actually involve detoxification, counseling, behavioral therapies, medication, and group meetings. But of course, the treatment program that will be assigned to a particular patient is still dependent on the intensity of his addiction.

Now, I'm hoping for your brother's recovery.

Recovery varies from person to person. There are persons who recover from addiction and go straight to abstinence in just a short span of time. With regard to your question, yes, drug rehabilitation programs work. It just didn't work for your neighbor because he most likely didn't really want to steer away from drugs. There could have been a lot of factors that got him to go back to taking drugs. If a person really wants to change, though, recovery from addiction would go over faster.

Your project is such a great idea and I support you for that. I hope that more youth will be involved in your activities. By the way, I want to make my small share in your information campaign by giving some of the links below. I've researched them for you. I pray that they be of great help and that you may become successful with your endeavors.

Sociology, education, health education, human services, psychology are all excellent majors if you're interested in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. These are also excellent classes to take in high school. When you're applying to colleges, look into the best programs in your state, or when you get to college, look into the above departments to see what suits you best.

I think it is federally funded bullshit myself... they go by the books but usually dont seem to use common sense. kind of like the college professor teaching kids to be so smart and educated and in the real world it doesnt work. The thing that gets me is even if you are not an acoholic they will force you to think you are one and not let up until you say it... I think the whole disease business is just to keep them in money for profit.

depends on the type of clinic. What is your client base? Is it the lofty and wealthy or is it the really poor? When aiming a healthcare center whether you get govnt funding depends on whether the people you're treating can afford the treatment or not. You will also have to have clinical/medical staff certified not just in counseling but also in substance abuse. Are you going to work with insurance companies? If so, find out which ones require what specific licenses to be accepted into the insurance. Some companies will not approve a simple LCSW for treating patients in NYS. You will also have to have proof to the saftey inspector on how you expect to preserve the immediate and physical saftey of all personnel should eg: a fire break out. Also as a clinic, you will need to present a structured program as to how your plan to walk the clients through and WHAT the rehab process will be. Is your center going to bed people or is it going to be a day treatment center. If you are going to have people stay over night or for a few days, you will need to be able to provide health care professional availability 24 hours (insurance/legal reasons). You will need a staff to keep patient records and EVERYONE working will have to be trained on HIPAA laws and patient rights.

Teenagers now are the easiest prey to drug addiction simply because of their curiosity about things around them. And because of this curiosity fueled by their want of independence, they sometimes get misled by peer pressure and false definitions of what it takes to be cool. But apart from them being the victims of this addiction, the parents themselves suffer out of their kid's condition.

What you and your son are going through can break any father's heart, but then don't lose hope because there are people who can and are willing to help you.

Drug rehabilitation is the only way to save your son. Getting him out of the habit - little by little - will truly help him in the long run. Although getting him to try it may seem difficult, his very commitment will carry him through the treatment and get him back a normal teenage life. I am sure that there are organizations and treatment centers within your area that can help you convince your son to admit himself to drug rehabilitation. And with a lot of support and encouragement from you, I know you and your son will pull through.

I wish you both the best!

Well, if the only way for you to convince your sister Winnie to enter a drug rehabilitation center is to admit her into the one that used to house Nicole Richie and Courtney Love, so be it. Getting better is the most important thing here, right? It doesn’t matter where the rehab is located because the determination to get better is the only thing that’s important. I think that rehab your sister is talking about is Beau Monde. It’s quite expensive but if you have the money, you should give it a try. Here are some helpful links:
