The South Beach Diet is a revolutionary way of looking at weight loss. It isn’t low carb or low fat—it’s all about balance and learning to choose good fats and good carbs instead of foods that don’t help your body. This diet was developed by Miami cardiologist Arthur Agaston as a way for heart patients to lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off, but it was so successful that soon everyone wanted to try it. During the first two weeks on the South Beach Diet you’ll begin the process of learning to eat in a new way. You’ll eat three balanced meals a day with normal size portions of meat, seafood, vegetables, eggs, cheese, and nuts. You won’t be hungry and you’ll learn how to ignore cravings and avoid wanting to overeat. You get to have snacks twice a day, drink diet soda, and eat out, but there are a few things you can’t eat in the first two weeks. You can’t have bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, baked goods, candy, ice cream, sugar, or fruit. You also can’t have beer or alcohol. But it’s only for two weeks. After that, you get to add these foods back into your diet in a healthy way. After the first two weeks, the next phase of the South Beach Diet begins. You’ll still eat plenty of lean protein, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, and nuts, but you also get to add in some of your favorite carbohydrates and sugars. You’ll learn the difference between good carbs and bad carbs and learn to balance foods so that you stay full and have plenty of energy! You stick to this phase of the diet until you reach your target weight. Then you can add in even more carbs and sugars while still maintaining your new weight. Once you know how to balance healthy options with not-as-healthy favorites, it’s easy to eat what you love and still keep the weight off.The South Beach Diet is less of a diet and more of a way of life. It teaches you how to eat so that it isn’t such a struggle to be healthy. The foods emphasized are universally considered to be healthy choices rich in vitamins, minerals, omega-3 oils, and good fats. There are even prepackaged South Beach meal options that can be purchased online or in grocery stores, which makes it even easier to stay on track. You do look amazing! Cute shirt! Have you looked at the thumbnails of all your vlogs to compare how you look from the first one?? This HCG is astonishing. I have lost this much weight before doing Atkins, but it never made this much difference in how I looked. Love it!!! Thanks for the great vlogs!

I do it the easy way, buy the Prego sauce (or other bottled spaghetti sauce) and add the seasonings and garlic to taste.
Then cook up spaghetti, drain and mix together.

Try this VERY simple recipe that I use. You should have most of these ingredients in your cupboard:
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup olive oil, divided
1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 pinch dried thyme
2 (6 ounce) cans albacore tuna in water, drained and flaked
1/3 cup white wine
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
DIRECTIONS
1 – Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place onion, garlic, and tomatoes in the skillet, and season with oregano and thyme. Cook and stir 5 minutes, until onion is tender. Mix in tuna, wine, lemon juice, and remaining olive oil. Continue cooking 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2 – Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until al dente. Drain, and transfer to a bowl.
3 – Toss the cooked pasta with Parmesan cheese. Top with the skillet mixture to serve.

Healthy and quick: olive oil, garlic, roma tomatoes, and parsley. (you can sub canned tomatoes for fresh if you wish). Layer a pan w/ oil, sautee garlic, add chopped tomatoes and sautee for a while, then add parsley and stir in. Then stir in angel hair with the sauce. It's oil based, no bad fat added, and it's really yummy. Good for the whole family!!

Look for Pomi brand strained tomatoes. They are packaged in a cardboard box, and contain NO additives. The ingredients list only says "tomatoes." Here's my recipe! I just eyeball, but I'll try to give you relative measurements….
one onion
4 cloves garlic
1 c. red wine
3 T. brown sugar
2 t. nutmeg
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. fresh basil chopped
Finely chop the onion and garlic.
Saute in olive oil on medium high heat until translucent and just starting to get color.
Pour in the wine to deglaze the pan. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients.
Bring to a bubble, then simmer on low for at least 30 minutes.
The brown sugar cuts out the tanginess of the tomato (some people use carrots for this….I prefer the sugar). The nutmeg is a nice touch. It adds just a touch of kick! If you don't have fresh basil, then leave it out (don't substitute with dry).
If you want to add meat, try 1lb. of ground beef and 1 lb. of Italian sausage. Brown the meat after the onions cook. And the sauce is enough for one lb. of pasta. I usually put the cooked pasta into the sauce and let it cook for 5 minutes longer or so.
