What is SPAC?
SPAC is an acronym for the Service Providers Advisory Committee. It is a standing committee of the San Andreas Regional Center's Board of Directors. The purpose is to provide advice, guidance, reocmmendations and technical assistance to the Board and staff of the regional cetner. SPAC meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10am-12pm at SARC. Regional Center representatives attend each meeting as well as any interested inidividuals from the open public. The topics discussed typically surround the impact and experiences of the vendor organizations that are directly serving people with developmental disabilities.

Who are SPAC members?
SPAC is made up of various individuals that actively serve within approved vendor programs serving San Andreas Regional Center consumers. The group aims to collectively represent all the primary service categories that are vendor approved through SARC. The members are carefully selected to ensure that the greatest breadth of diversity in scope of service, geography and organization size is represented. Members are appointed by the SARC Board to serve a 2 year term which can be reinstated a maximum of three times for a total of six years. The primary service categrories represented on SPAC include the following:
- Infant Programs (Early Start/Early Intervention)
- Children Programs
- Independent Living Services (ILS)
- Supported Living Services (SLS)
- Residential Living Programs
- Adult Day Activities
- Supported Employment/Vocational
- Senior Services

What does SPAC do?
SPAC members exchange information with Regional Center staff and management each month and discuss ideas and issues surrounding service delivery. The group endeavors to represent the views of all service providers and gather information pertinent to organizations which serve Regional Center consumers. In addition, many related topics are also discussed such as legislative trend, economic indicators, funding threats, innovation opportunities and avenues for policy and procedural change.
